Kyotopia Updates

September 27, 2004

No major update as of right now, just minor HTML fixing, adding one new member to KFC, tinkering with the opening page (which after the half hour I spent on it didn't really change...), adding the full size version of Lene's Kyo picture (the opening picture of the site), and.... Well, that's it really.

Since no one responded to the kiriban at 500 hits, I've upped (is that even a word?) to 1000 hits, as, ironically, were less than 200 hits away from. I will be adding Kiriban to the site so people will know what it is and see past kiribans as they come about, but for the moment... Well, we'll just see how things go ^_~. For those who don't know or can't remember what kiriban is, just look at the last update (below) and it'll explain it.

That's all for now!

Wow, it hasn't even been a month since Kyotopia launched itself to the public and it's already recieved 327 hits! That's so cool! **Weeps from happiness**.

I'm thinking about maybe doing a kiriban ^_^. For those of you who don't know what a kiriban is, it's this:
When you're the XXXX visitor to the site you get a free Kyo picture with your name and the kiriban number on it (to say I'm not dying from school work)! So make sure you check the counter every time you come to visit!

If you happen to actually be the kiriban winner, e-mail me pronto with a picture of the counter proving you're the winner (not to say I won't believe you, but if I get two people saying they're the kiriban winner, well, then we'll have an issue).

Let's aim for 500 hits for the first Kiriban ^_^. More details will come shortly.

Besides that, Kyotopia was accepted into the Fruits Basket Webring with a "passes checker mark" and KFC has gained one new member! Also, someone has linked back to Kyotopia, but I'll have to link back to them at Kodocha Fruits as it doesn't seem that there site is Kyo-centric.

Which reminds me, I updated the links section with a little note about linking back, so go check it out.

Just finished putting up two new fanfictions in Fanfiction Central. I'm nearly done finishing up the mirror site. Man, I really hate Tripod. Geocities is so much easier to use and get around... But I digress.

Kyotopia has been accepted into the About A Boy webring! Yahoo! I haven't gotten around to submitting to the Fruits Basket webring; been too busy with putting up the mirror site and with real life junk. Its summer time and I haven't even touched upon any new fics! **sob** Although, I'm sure the Furuba Round Robin group will change that. I should probably particpate in my own Fruits Basket mailing list, but... Writing can be so hard >_<.

Anyway, that's about it for the updates. Stay tuned.

It is now 4 a.m. I am very tired. However, I figured I should announce that Kyotopia is ready to be launched to the public. I will send e-mails to the ML's tomorrow. I will send a request to join the Fruits Basket Webring tomorrow; I have already sent a request to join the About A Boy ring. I still need images for LTBN, but that can wait.

Now, I can say HA! I actually did complete a website! Well, mostly, the rest is up to the visitors, really. I will have to work on a mirror site as I know the bandwidth won't last for very long (damn free sites)... At least until I can buy my own domain and not have to worry about that anyway.

In the meantime, enjoy. I'm going to bed @_@.

Letters To Baka Neko (LTBN) is done with the exception of a background pic. I'm about to go work on that now and hopefully have it up by tonight, or within the next few days at least. Part of the hold up for this is, well number one would have to be lazyness, but the second part would be due to the fact that the AOHELL (AOL) browser rejects e-mail forms. This was a problem for both LTBN as well as the KFC Members Sign-Up page. I had been using e-mail forms in order to get the needed information (i.e pen name, question, etc) and it wasn't sending the information that was filled out.

So that was frustrating. In the end I just had to list my e-mail address and tell people to mail me the needed information. It seems more unprofessional, but it'll have to do.

On another note, the opening page. I had been looking at some great fan art at Animanga Crossing and happened to come by an artist whose artwork totally awed me. I e-mailed them with a request for them to do a picture for the opening page. It took them awhile to get back to my first e-mail, but they said they'd be flattered to! I was thrilled, but it's been a while now with no other e-mail so I'm wondering if maybe I should just throw something together and forget their picture.

Of course, if they get back to me in the near future with a picture I'll be happy to put it up for awhile ^_^. Perhaps I'll make a contest for every few months for someone else's artwork to be shown on the opening page (all credit to them of course)? Does that sound cool?

Well, that's all for now!

Only one more thing to do before Kyotopia is ready to be launched to the public! Yayness!!! I finished Kyo's 411, now all that's left to do is Letters To Baka Neko. This won't be too difficult. I have to draw a picture of Kyo and I looking through mounds of letters **sweat drop**, the basics of what LTBN is and put the e-mail form up. Voila! Kyotopia will essentially be done!

Kyotopia still isn't ready to be launced to the public yet, but its getting awfully close. All that's really left to do is write out Kyo's bloody indepth information, the gist of Letters to Baka Neko, and finish Kyotopia's version 1.5 layout. It's a shame how version 1.0 never made it to the public... It was too orange. If you guys are interested in seeing what the opening page looked like though check it out here.

Anyway, as soon as that's all done the site is basically finished. Of course, I'll be needing fanfiction, fan art, and letters to our favorite neko submissions, but that's not really the hard part. Also, please sign up for KFC (Kyo Fan Club)! Show our shafted boy you love him!

That's it for now ^_^.

Keeps!
